Media release: (NSW) Jones - Bankrupt faces court for failing to disclose information

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

The lack of disclosure involved two questionnaires which needed to be filled out and returned to his trustee within two weeks.

Mr Jones became bankrupt in September 2012. The questionnaires were sent to him in 2013, but he did not return them until 2015.

Magistrate Glass stated he was not satisfied that Mr Jones had acted without intent to defraud his creditors by failing to provide the required information within the required timeframe.

Mr Jones was sentenced to imprisonment for three months, but was released on a three-month good behaviour bond of $1000.

The matter was prosecuted by the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
